Buhari @ 75: 5000 Igbos Hold Rally In Ebonyi, Endorse President For 2nd Term By Chijioke Agwu

The residents of Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital under the aegis of Initiative For Demonstrating Change(IFDC), shunned Sunday services to hold rally in Abakaliki to mark President Muhammadu Buhari’s 75 birthday anniversary.

The group numbering over five thousand persons marched through the major streets of Abakaliki carrying placards and banners with various inscriptions wishing the President a happy birthday and also endorsing him for second term in office come 2019.

The group during the rally visited the Destitute Home at Alo Street and the Red Cross Society’s Motherless Babies Home at Nsugbe street all in Abakaliki and presented bags of rice, indomie, detergents, tissues and other gifts to the homes.

The leader of the group, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, while making the presentations to the homes said that Buhari’s 75th the birthday was worthy of celebration in the light of the miraculous recovery granted him by God during his recent medical vacation in London.

He stated that President Buhari is a leader who loves the people especially the less privileged and the special people in the country and want them to be cared for and protected.

Ogah said that his group was presenting the foodstuffs and other gift items to them on behalf of the President in the spirit of his birthday anniversary celebration towards making life easier for them.

Ogah also explained that Buhari’s second term would give the Igbos opportunity to take a short at the presidency in 2023, warning that that any other aspirations would elongate the hope and clamour of the region to occupy the exalted seat, because a fresh candidate must insist on two-term agreement.

Ogah said: “If any other person irrespective of his political party should clinch the Presidential seat, it therefore means that we have to wait for another eight years to renew our hope and agitation for ruling this country. We want Buhari back as a person no matter any party he may choose to run with. We have to support the Buhari’s All Progressives Congress if we must succeed him in 2023.”
