South South For APC a formidable Support Group in the All Progressives Congress (APC) right from its formative stage was built with a solid political foundation base across all the Wards in all the Local Government Areas in the Six South South States.
With our visible presence in all the Polling Units in our Geo-Political Region we were able to make a loud statement during the 2023 General Elections.
Despite the fact that the Region was dominated by the opposition PDP, with our immense grassroot support base, our Party was able to clinch many seats in the National Assembly in 2023.
This remarkable achievement didn't come easy, but due to hard work and constant touch with the grassroot over time.
Recall, since 1999 when this present dispensation commenced, the South South Geo-Political Region has not presided over the affairs of the National Assembly whether the Senate or the House of Representatives, however the Region has remained calm and supportive to the Government.
Now the time has come when the National Assembly mainly the Senate be presided by a South South ranking Senator with both Executive and Legislative experience and prowess.
The Senate needs a Bridge Builder and a Senator with deep understanding of National Politics and Legislation as its President.
Based on the above, we pledge our support to the Candidature of Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio from Akwa Ibom State in the South South Region for the Senate Presidency.
We wholeheartedly call on all Stakeholders and other Senators that will be inaugurated in the 10th National Assembly to throw their weight behind Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio to emerge as the next Senate President as this will bring the needed development and stability in our polity.
