Ilaje/Ese-Odo leading aspirant, Otunba Ayara Olamigoke, puts the records straight:

It is not strange that when the activities of politics start we tend to witness horse-trading, propaganda, half-truth and many times, outright lies from desperate politicians. They believe these are the only way to gain popularity and remain relevant in the scheme of things, forgetting that no matter how far lie goes the truth will definitely triumph at the end.

A leading aspirant in Ilaje-Ese Odo Federal Constituency of Ondo state under the ruling party of All Progressives Congress, APC, Otunba Ayara Olamigoke, has denied the publication by some media, the false and flimsy attack purportedly planted by Donald Ojogo who is also vying for the same position in the constituency in an effort to mislead his supporters and the electorates.

Putting the records straight, the former  US based Olamigoke said he would have ignored the publication dated May 9, 2022 made by the former Commissioner in the state but for posterity and for record purpose, hence the response.

‘’Ordinarily, we would have ignored the publication because we know the aspirant behind it is someone without any electoral value but we have decided to respond in order to put the records straight.

‘’There is no time Otunba Ayara Olamigoke has relied on the Deputy Governor of Ondo State to support or push him through to get the ticket of the party, rather he has been going about peacefully talking to various leaders, excos, members and delegates of the party for support which is the right thing to do in politics and politicking and the support he is getting from these people is overwhelming as he is truly the Peoples' choice for the job.

‘’We begin to wonder why another Aspirant who moved from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to APC in 2016 and was made a Commissioner would want to soil the hard earned and mutually respected working relationship between the Governor and Deputy Governor with his ambition that is not backed by his people’’ He said.

It was also stated that when Ojogo decamped  from PDP to APC in 2016 he was welcomed and accepted by all  without any discrimination, he was eventually appointed as a Deputy Chief of Staff and later Commissioner despite that many foundation members of the party are more  capable and competent to hold those positions but they accepted it in good faith and supported him.

‘’Again, the same person that  facilitated the process that made him became our Party's Candidate in 2019 to run for House of Representatives, let's ask him, what happened to his relationship with his benefactor that did all these for him? He dwell more in betraying his benefactors.

We humbly suggest that the Governor should trade carefully with such character/person as this perceived rosy relationship will automatically turn sour in no distance time.

‘’However, despite serving years as commissioner he cannot boast of any development or project he has brought to his constituency, if he has done that or  any positive impact he has attracted to his Local Government Area he should point it out.

If he had done so well someone like Ayara Olamigoke wouldn’t have come out to vie for the position of House of Representatives with him with the full support of the people in the area that are clamouring for good representation’’ He Otunba Olamigoke stated further.

The aspirant also stated further that the ex-commissioner should be more concern on how to redeem his image and monumental failure in government for seven years and appeal to his people to support him, rather than  tarnishing the image and soiling the working relationships of the Leaders of the Party and Leaders in Government.

‘’For the records, in 2019 this same Donald Ojogo was given the opportunity to run for House of Representatives under our Great Party, but he was openly and massively rejected by his kinsmen and Party members, instead of using the past four years to redeem his image and winning the hearts of his people, he ignored them all these years only to come back now coerce them to vote for him.

This is democracy, we advise other aspirants to peacefully canvas for support from party members rather than fuelling bad blood where there is none between leaders of the party and leaders in the  government’’ Olamigoke added.
