Many arguments by various Schools of thought have been going on as regards Leadership in a Region in Rivers APC.
In as much I wouldn't support a Man to be called a Leader of a Region that has 4 L.G.As, because to me, each L.G.A should have its own Leader reporting to our overall Leader in Rivers State CRA since Elections are done, conducted and won by L.G.As.
Given this background information, I will want to ask, Who is a Leader?
To me, a Leader is someone who understands the Political terrain of his L.G.A, understands and work in line with the body language of our overall Leader, try as much as possible to touch the lives of his People given the resources at his disposal and most importantly win Elections in his L.G.A for our Party.
If this is truly accepted as the definition of who a Leader is, then our own Hon. Gift Okere of Oyigbo L.G.A fits in perfectly well to be called a Leader.
Against all odds, he was able to deliver his L.G.A thereby denying the PDP Candidate of victory in the last Rivers State House of Assembly Election 2019 in Oyigbo Local Government Area.
If not for our non inclusion as a Party in the 2019 Election, he could have been in the Green Chambers now. Well, God knows best.
As we gear up in preparation of the 2023 General Elections that is around the corner, I call on all our Party Members to be focused and dedicated on our common cause/struggle so we can reclaim the Brick House and retain Aso Rock.
