A special Investigative report has uncovered the actual reason behind the visit of Governor Nyesom Wike of RIVERS State to BENUE State,Nigerian in which the Rivers State Governor donated a whopping sum of Two hundred Million naira to the Government and People of that state.
The report say contrary to the fillers of Benevolence of Wike by the Nigerians media, Gov.Wike action was merely a well planned and executed Political Mission, being a brain child of a meeting of PDP Governors and the National Working Executive of the party held a forth night ago, in which the party leadership resolved to lobby more Governors into the PDP fold, especially those looking politically vulnerable.
A reliable source informed that, the National Chairman of the people Democratic Party (PDP) ,Prince Uche Secondus had on bequest of other party stalwarts and stakeholders present at the meeting unanimously recommended Gov.Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of RIVERS State to carry out the assignment of leading a delegation to Benue State in the pretext of sympathy and solidarity visit.
The report further said, it was at this point of acceptance, that Gov.Nyesom Wike pledge to make available, the sum of Two Hundred Million naira for the mission, stating that it would not be a good idea to embark on such all important lobby with empty pocket.
At the said meeting, another PDP Governor from South West had opted to travel alongside Gov.Wike, but the Rivers State Governor stepped down the suggestion, noting that it will surely raise eye brows, as such announced that he will rather go with some of his Kinsmen from Rivers to avert suspicions.
It said the original plan prompted a question by Gov.Wikes to Gov. Otom of BENUE State when he as the latter question during a secret chat, ''How many of your Progressive People have been here to sympathize with you? I'm here on behalf of PDP, because this is how we live in the umbrella Party. We are always available to support one another".
It was further disclosed that, BENUE State is one of the States being targeted for possible take over by PDP before the 2019 polls, alongside states like, Kwara,
and Oyo.
