NIGERIANS ARE THE PROBLEM OF NIGERIA NOT THE GOVERNMENT - Jamaiyi Ibieneye

I will start with this African proverb, "What an elder sees while sitting down, a child will not see it while standing on a tree". The elder in this contest is someone that has the ability to know his surrounding and can be able to proffer solutions to avert crises in future.

Few years ago, precisely 2016, there where protest and counter protest for those that are for and those that are against the grazing bill before the national assembly then. Some governors and opposition leaders openly protested against releasing lands for ranching in their states to solve the age long menace between Herdsmen and Farmers that predated this administration.

Those of us in the side of the federal government on different occasions tried our best to explain the advantages of ranching as it is done in civilized countries. But we forgot that Nigeria has more persons that are unwilling to be civilized.

From different quarters, the government were faced with blackmails of different dimension. Some said the president wants to encroach on the lands belonging to the states etc.

The feud between the herders and the farmers continued with none of those antagonist proffering solution, rather they used that as a campaign strategy against the government while the herdsmen and farmers continue to sacrifice themselves to the gods who brought religion to make Nigerians dumb.

On vanguard Newspaper, it was boldly written, 'Nigerians say “NO” to National Grazing Reserves Bill'. But today, most of those people who never saw the future that patriots see, have come to terms with what they where up and against without knowing the solution of Nigeria lies with the this government. The opposition are only there to look for reasons to come back and finish off the country from where they left.

Thank God for the political will that he has in excess, PMB has given the directive that there will be grazing centers in states, about 15 states have agreed to release hectares of lands to support the FG. This measure is to curb the herdsmen-farmers clash that people with vision saw and opposition did not.

To imagine that someone that was against the bill asked me why it took the FG this long to do what they should have done since, I agreed, Nigerians are the real problem of themselves.

May Buhari succeed, even as the bulk of his opposition celebrate with common sense that is not common.

Share if you want wailers to be quiet for whole of this week.
