THE LAST STRAW RIVERS PDP MEETS FINAL END AT GOKANA EXODUS As scores of PDP supporter dumped the party for APC - BCR POLITIKAS

Rivers All Progressives Congress, APC, with the leadership of the very Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi has served their main opposition party in the state, the PDP, the Last Straw, as they welcome scores of PDP defectors today in Gokana LGA. The exodus was seen by many as the end of PDP’s oppressive reign of infamy in the area.

APC leader RT Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, APC State Chairman, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, and the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom were on hand to received the defectors.
Meanwhile, there were speculations making the around at the event ground that former SSG of Rivers State Sir Kenneth Kobani was among the thousands who dumped the PDP, others include Chief Bernard Mikor, a former Member of the Federal House of Representatives.

BCR The Politikas spoke with APC’s leading personality in Gokana, Celestine Apkobari, who said today’s event has proved that the evil reign of PDP in the State is coming to an end in 2019. He went further to congratulate the defectors and promise that the state executives will continue to operate an all-inclusive leadership, which will give every old and new members a stake in the party structure as presently constituted.

However, Sen. Magnus Abe, who is at the moment in a war with the state party leadership was conspicuously absent at the event. The self-determined governorship aspirant on the platform of APC, has described the event as a plot to provoke Gokana people into violence but he pleaded with his supporters to remain calm. BCR gathers that the distinguished Senator’s absent was not unconnected to his earlier position not to recognize the newly elected state executives, who he claimed are operating illegally and in disobedience to a court order.  Parry Saroh Benson, a spokesman for Abe said in a statement on Saturday 9th June 2018.
