It is quite unfortunate that the lives of citizens of our dear Rivers State have continued to be in danger even as we have entered the new year 2018. It is quite an unhealthy one for us.
As a group that places development at the centre, the *Initiative For Change & Development(ICD)* condemns in totality the recent killing that took place in Onelga axis of Rivers State. The act is very barbaric and under developing. While we call on the sponsors of such dastardly act to think again and repent from the widely unaccepted evil, we also call on the government of Rivers State to sit-up to its full responsibilities of ensuring that the state is always safe. We cannot continue living in fear, as a people, if we must grow beyond where we are today. The government of Rivers State should step-up its game of protecting lives and properties in the state.
