OF GOD-PIKINISM; WIKE IS MORE OF A PREY. SAY "NO" TO HIM. - Written by Maobuye NANGI OBU  (13/01/2015)

Caveat: somewhat long read, be patient.

We were all counting our losses from drinking the old-poisonous wine of yesteryears. The wine that clearly defines deceit, unrest, retrogression, witch hunting, incarceration of the people, flamboyance, underdevelopment, underperformance. That wine that chokes, the wine that signifies conscienceless looting, the wine that sold out our trust and commonwealth to the emperors etc. This was the sort of wine our political fathers imposed on us in 1999 and it lasted until 2007. Rivers people cannot forget in a hurry the heartrending era of Sir.Dr.Peter Odili. The era that claimed the lives of some of our best brains, the era of cultism, occultism, sectionalism, nepotism, sycophancy, favouritism etc. The era when Young people died like never before in Rivers State, please do you want a reintroduction of that era? If "NO", then say "NO" to Sir.Dr.Peter Odili in Nyesom WIKE's apparel .

Today, there is quasi rebranding of that wine. They have meticulously rebranded that wine and changed the bottle, not the content. We are made to understand that, that wine now gives life, hope, peace, progress, unity and all the mouth-watering things, how can? In fact, they say it is that wine alone that can restore our hopes and take us to the promise land. Perhaps, they treat this as another arrow in their marketing quiver. If you must know, dangerous  people will stop at nothing to sell their dangerous products to the gullible, let us reject it. My people, a bad product is a bad product anytime and shall remain so, no amount of rebranding can alter the content except the content is changed entirely.

Thing is, I find it nebulous to understand that today, the likes of Sir.Dr.Peter Odili are the "emergency change agents" we have in Rivers State. "Amaechi must go" has always been their mantra, in fact, they're embellishing it like a platitude today. Yet, Young people aren't asking questions either. Okay, If Amaechi leaves (which he will, certainly), will that give Rivers people 24hours electricity? Will there be better roads, will kidnapping end? Will cultism, gansterism, communal clashes cease? Will SHELL, AGIP, ExxonMobil, TOTAL/ELF etc stop their despoliation and exploitation in Rivers State? Will Young people be gainfully employed? If yes is the answer, then why didn't Odili give us those? Why were they rocket science for him during his stint as Governor for eight years? Who is fooling who na?

Haba! Why should I listen to a man who deveived Rivers people with generators as "Gas turbine", and today he is campaigning for another in his stock? Well, it is crystal-clear that the Rivers-PDP has nothing new to offer and hasn't changed from their old-ways of kindergarten pranks. It is crazy that all they're interested in is how to unseat Gov.CRA, yet, they aren't giving us any considerable option. The Rivers-PDP's decision for Wike is like them describing Gov.CRA as "Robert Mugabe" and they are recommending someone like "Idi Amin" to takeover from Mugabe. Funny. Well, I have no doubt that decision is a clear indication of "God-pikinism", I know so. But it's all good.

Virtually  every politician is likely to have a political family that projects him or her. As we all know, Governor CRA and Hon.Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside are close like every other close allies of Gov.CRA. So, If you say CRA will still be in-charge when Dakuku wins mean nothing to me. Because, for me CRA is not a problem, he can only be a problem now that he is the one steering the wheel. His major challenge today is his unending media parleys, else, he is a politician (just like others) playing politics and pressing the 'Mumu buttons' of some electorates.

Today, 60-70% of those not happy with Gov.CRA are angry because he appears to be granting too many media parleys where he most times breaks down emotionally and 'miscaps (in local parlance: overshoot, overtalk etc)'. So my people, how would Gov.CRA become a problem when Hon.Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside wins? Oh!, do we prefer to travel all the way to Abuja to get 'small' appointment or employment in Rivers State? How many of us get people or know people for this Abuja sef? Or, would he (CRA) take the place of DAKUKU and grant interviews in behalf of Dakuku? After May 29th he has no business in the Government House again na except playing advisory role, therefore, he is not a threat in the Dakuku's Government. Besides, is he not a stakeholder? But wait oh, do you want him not to have access to the Brick House again? No oh, I disagree this one oh. Gov.CRA being alive or being Governor of Rivers State is not Rivers State Wahala oh. The Rivers-PDP should retool and change their debate line abeg.

Wike who became flagbearer as a result of blackmail, compensation, desperation and "dead-on-arrival calculation" by the Rivers-PDP that; only him (Chief Nyesom Wike) can salvage Rivers State. To the Rivers-PDP, they need a 'strong man, a bulldozer", they're only concerned with booting out Gov.CRA. They're seeking power not because they have any developmental plan for the State or the people of Rivers State. They want power back because Gov.CRA defected to another party, please is that good-enough reason to take power instead of hinging your concern on the people? I do not need a soothsayer to tell me that Chief NYESOM Wike is suffering from the effects of uncountrollable "God-pikinism" from some very 'high and mighty' powers that be and dry-bones that wants to rise again.  Even at that, he cannot lead because he has failed in his little assignment. I reiterate, "na mess smell dem dey take know shit smell". Wike cannot deliver, he will be like one his God-fathers (Odili). They will only share the money to their clique and nothing will be on ground. He has no programme other than planning to unleash attacks on Gov.CRA and CRA supporters. He might even extend it to those of us not supporting his Candidacy. If we mistakenly elect Wike, Rivers State will be "Rivers of witch hunt".

First of all, he was financially, physically, administratively, morally and even perhaps voodooly empowered to oust Gov.CRA, yet he failed woefully. The entire security was his, he smiled to the bank (because he was given so much money too) yet he couldn't sanely discharge his small duties that were assigned to him. Rather, he and his boys "Ayin-kpere-red" the money and caused mayhem so as to cover-up their mess. I wonder why "Abuja" still thinks this man will deliver. How can such a man who fails even in his plethora of powers then lead an entire State like ours? I'd rather we have a former Commissioner who performed meritoriously well than a former chief-of-staff who's only interested in buying up all the Porsche Houses, cars, lands etc, at the detriment of the people.

If I say Wike is not a smart politician, I am a liar. But what sort of smartness has he? Find out. Do we need a so-called smart man that will give us the instant cash and not listent to us or even build a goat pen for us? Or, would you rather we have a Dakuku who believes in human-capital development, a man who believes in infrastructural development, a man who believes in Education. A man who believes in employment generation etc? Think.

In conclusion, I will not sit here to say Dakuku is one 'saint Opobo' whilst Wike is 'devil Rumuepirikom'. They're both sinners, they both have their low sides. But I would rather support a man with lesser surrounding encumbrances, Dakuku is of lesser disadvantage to every Rivers man than Nyesom Wike (even Wike know this). Wike have topped up his sins and baggages with some greatest political-sinners in our political clime. They can never be trusted, they have no developmental plan or roadmap for us. Voting for Wike will be disastrous and catastrophic, please say "NO" to Wike. We need a Governor that can reunite all parties than a segregator and one who only believes in "do me I do you". Hon.Dr.Dakuku is far far better than Chief Nyesom Wike.

Vote Hon.Dr.Dakuku Adol Peterside, for Governor, Rivers State. Vote APC in the Governorship election in Rivers State.

I am,

Maobuye NANGI OBU
