Human and environmental rights activist, Comrade Celestine AkpoBari, has stated that the anchor of his gubernatorial ambition is the Ogoni Bill of Right.

In an interview with The Neighbourhood on Wednesday, AkpoBari, who revealed that his ambition “is as old as the Ogoni Bill of Right”, condemned the political marginalisation of the Ogoni saying that he would encourage “as many Ogoni governorship aspirants as possible to buy the governorship Intent/Nomination Forms in all the political parties.”

According to AkpoBari, who said he was not aware at what time the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State had zoned its governorship ticket to the Rivers East senatorial district, his concern is “with addressing years of injustice and marginalisation” (of the Ogoni). “I don’t really know when that meeting was held but whether there is a zoning or not, this issue of injustice concerning the Ogoni people should be addressed by all political parties and not only APC.”

AkpoBari said that on the matter of the alleged Ogoni marginalisation, “When we start campaigning, we wil not spare any political party.”
