INCRA CONDEMNS ESCAPE OF MURDER SUSPECT ▫Urges Security Agencies to think outside the box.

The Inter-ethnic Network for Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, INCRA, a leading media group in Rivers State, expresses shock over the purported inadvertent escape of Mr. Ifeanyi Chukwu Maxwell Dike, a murder suspect, from police custody.

Mr. Ifeanyi who allegedly kidnapped an underage girl, little Chikamso Victoria Mazu, violated, mutilated and dismembered her, supposedly for rituals and other inhumane practices, was said to have escaped police custody hours after he was arrested over the crime.

We condemn this sad incidence in its entirety as well as urge the Police to think outside the box and beam its searchlight in all directions leaving no stone unturned. It is our strong view that it is not just enough to arrest Mr. Ifeanyi but also, the sponsors of this iniquitous act.

Recently in Rivers State we have witnessed a rather distressing rise in crime rate and incidences of murder. More fearsome is the fact that this murders are frequently associated with beheading and dismembering of the murder victims and we wonder what the State government is doing to bring this tragic situation under control.

Obviously, these nefarious acts are sponsored by groups and individuals who are into rituals for different means, not excluding some desperate politicians with vehement passion for power.

The Police and other security agencies must therefore, without fear or favour, exercise utmost professionalism and intelligence in the discharge of its responsibilities by paying close attention to all classes of individual including government officials in the State if it must curb this menacing terrorist murder.

Our thoughts are with the bereaved and other victims of this prevalent calamity which the State government is sufficiently lacking in the capacity to curtail.

INCRA,
Ubima, Rivers State.
