President Muhammadu Buhari has explained reasons why the protracted detention of the former National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki over alleged $2.1bn arms deal may take longer than expected despite the intervention of the Economic Community of West African States ECOWAS.
The President, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu in exclusive interview with our correspondent Kolawole Omoniyi in Kano.
According to Shehu, Dasuki had several cases in court and a particular court ruling on one of the cases could not guarantee his release considering the huge criminal offences leveled against him.
He further added that aside the already established cases, the federal government will soon file more new cases against the former NSA.
