''NAFDAC WARNS NIGERIANS ON FAKE SPIRITS, GINS AND WINES IN THE MARKET''

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians to be wary of the spirits, gins and wines they consume.

NAFDAC’s Ports Head in Enugu State, Mr. John Okwori, who gave the advise in Enugu said the agency recently found out that beverage fakers were focusing on these drinks especially as the Christmas approaches.

Okwori said the agency had commenced a nationwide massive mop-up of these products.

NAFDAC recently seized 11 large cartoons of fake Chelsea Dry Gin labels which could be used to package gins worth N64.76 million.

The agency also tracked down and confiscated a large number of fake labels of Amarula drinks.
