SECURITY
Towards the end of the tenure of Sir Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi as the governor of Rivers State there was a man sent to destabilise him but Dr Barry was there to act as a bridge.
Mr Mbu Joseph Mbu acted in the best possible way to unseat our golden governor and speaker of all speakers but with the intervention of Dr Barinada his moves were foiled.
Back in the days of Sir Dr Peter Odili as governor of our state Dr Mpigi was the pioneer commissioner of Youths Affairs and his policies gave birth to the amnesty their boys are enjoying today.
The last dinner we had with him, he told us how he drafted a proposal to his then Boss explaining how they could get guns off the streets of Rivers State and it worked. The youths were asked to return weapons for money and in not distance time the federal government bought into his ideas and turned it to the amnesty program.
He was again called upon when PDP vowed that save rivers movement can't hold its rally in Bori. Dr Mpigi stepped in and a successful rally was held and We keep asking how did he do it. His leadership style has always kept us very safe in Tai LGA not until the NEW arrangement came on board and we are witnessing pockets of killing that were never found. If not because of his presence who knows what would have happened.
EDUCATION:
As LGA Chairman of Tai he made sure the Best model secondary school Saakpenwa was built and completed. He worked assiduously with the host community of Kira and paid compensation to landlords then supervised the projects to its completion.
As Member representing Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo federal constituency he donated computer to schools within the three LGAs to enhance information technology aware
•Procured forms for over 10 JAMB candidates drawn from each of the LGAs in his constituency
•He assisted over 30 Tai youths with monthly stipends to scale through high institution. He registered 2011/2012 batch of SS3 students in CSS Koroma Community in their WAEC.
ELECTRICITY:
. Except Nonwa and Botem, as LGA chairman he gave electricity to all Tai communities in conjunction with SPDC.
•Rehabilitated electricity project in koroma. Horo Bunu Kira Borobara Botem and Gbene-ue community in Tai LGA.
•Donation of Standard Transformer in communities in Tai, Oyigbo and Eleme
•He installed standard solar system street lights in Kpite community and Koroma in Tai LGA
• Paid electricity bill owed by communities across his constituency
SKILL ACQUISITION:
•Youth skills acquisition program in the communities under his constituency.
• He empowered several youths across his constituency
SPECIAL EMPOWERMENT SCHEME:
•On the 01/01/2014 he invited Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi The Then Governor Of Rivers state to koroma community to launched and hand over of thousands motorcycles to youths from Tai LGA
•He bought Several cars to men within and outside his party. There's no village in Tai that vehicles bought by Dr Mpigi is not giving people joy till today.
WATER PROJECT:
• Rehabilitation of Industrial Borehole covering 5 communities in each LGA from his constituency with 27KVA Generator.
•Standard drinking water to the people of Koroma community in Tai LGA.
Built the water project that Sime Tai is drinking from till today.
HOUSING:
•Building of high standard and quality Market in Nonwa community in Tai
• Built Chief Jeremiah Nmebe road in Sime Tai
• Construction Nonwa-Ogu road
. Construction of Eteo-Ogu-Sime road.
. He built an ultra modern office complex for Tai
PEACE AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION:
. He initiated rewards to the most peaceful community in Tai monthly and this resulted in the car gift to more chief in Tai.
• He resolved the fight among Kpite and Botem community in Tai LGA in the year 2007
• He make peace in several communities in Eleme and Oyigbo
• He resolved the recent problem between Afam-Nta and Korokoro and during his tenure as LGA chairman in Tai we experience the kind of peace that we have never experience before!
SUPPORT TO RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES:
• He built the Anglican church in koroma Tai to the highest quality and today the church is one of the best in ogoni land
• He has supported countless numbers of churches in Tai LGA and other places
• As LGA chairman he hosted Pst. Uma Okpai in Tai local goverment council to cleans the land of atrocities left behind by the other people.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT
• Women in his constituency are always proud of him. From skill acquisition to empowerment and financial support he's always been there for them.
• Donated countless wrappers to women of Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo
. And assorted food items and cash money
RELATIONSHIP WITH NON-INDIGENES:
• He personally nominate a non-indigenes lady as a member to a caretaker committee in Tai LGA to empower Non-Indigenes
• He also donated wrappers to non-indigenes in Tai LGA and motorcycle to the male ones.
. Police officer's wives serving in his constituency are not left out. From sewing machine to computers and food items with money support.
After all this we have seen from this noble leader I wish to urge everyone from Tai/Eleme/Oyigbo to support Rt Hon Barinada Barry Mpigi PhD. He has been tested and trusted a man who has done this for his people all he needs from us is to support him with our PVCs to re-elect him back to the green chamber and he will do more.
He has promised much more and we are sure he will deliver all his promises if only we play our role to send him back to Abuja.
