ABE ASSURES ON IMPLEMENTATION OF UNEP REPORT

NEW YEAR MESSAGE: SENATOR ABE ASSURES ON IMPLEMENTATION OF UNEP REPORT Flag bearer of All Progressives Congress, APC for the Rivers South East senatorial district rerun election in 2016 Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has assured the people of his constituency that he will continue to strive for the implementation of the United Nations Environmental Program, UNEP report in Ogoni land. Abe in his new year message to the people maintained that he was the one who presented the UNEP report to President Muhammadu Buhari and has been the only politician of Ogoni extraction that has stood so firm on the issue and therefore will not relent until success is achieved. Continuing, he said the financial challenge facing the nation occasioned by the drop in the price of crude oil was enough reason for the people to vote for credible and patriotic leaders who will focus on building every aspect of the country. On matters of State importance Senator Abe said that he is worried by the rising cases of insecurity in the state, adding that governor Nyesom Wike should see goverment as mainly about progress and not witch hunt. "I am concern about the level of insecurity in the state. Decisions should be taken in the interest of the people. What has been the reaction of this government to some of the programmes of the past government is very worrisome. Dr Odili had a scholarship program that we sustained while I was the Secretary to State Government. RSSDA was started by Dr Odili and we sustained it. Government should be all about progress of a state". My friend Senator Ngige was not governor for long but his policies made him popular even after his brief tenure.", he said. On the forth coming rerun election in the State, Abe called on politicians not to see it as a do or die affair as power is a temporal thing, expressing hope that the era of impunity was over. Like
