I stayed awake all night for fear of being killed as the PDP hired gunmen had a field day ringing bullets and sending a clear message to the people of the Ogbolomabiri Nembe community, "we are in charge"
I was later to learn that Chief Timipre M. Sylva the candidate of the APC was attacked by some hoodlooms on the waterways late at night with the intent to kill him.
The message was clear, "we are in charge".
I stood in line by dawn to get registered and vote in-spite of heavy shooting by a rag tag army of non indigene thugs from Okirika who roamed the streets freely with the clear message of "we are in charge".
I was sent shocking pictures and video clips of two attacks lunched on Sen. H. Lokpobiri, a serving senator of the Fed. Republic of Nigeria and DG of the APC campaign. The clear message must have been, take him out because "We are in charge".
I watched as Dickson broke all the rules of the game as he stormed the INEC office to rant and later moved into Southern Ijaw to stage a protest. The message was clear "we are in charge".
I waited patiently on the results from Kano (Southern Ijaw), the biggest and furthest LGA in Bayelsa to collate, deliver and announce their results but that was never to be and to my dismay INEC announced a cancellation of Kano sorry Southern Ijaw results with the flimsy excuse of violence.
I was thrown off balance because I could recall any red flag raised during the course of the entire process.
The elections had been isolated and was indeed conducted under a conjunctive atmosphere. Besides Ekeremo, Sagbama, Yenagoa and Nembe had proven that elections could be conducted in a warlike situation just like in Afghanistan so what the hell was the Rec talking about?
Was this another message of "being in charge"?

I want to set the records straight. Southern Ijaw was won by the APC fair and square and that message was clear when the PDP goons started running from pillar to post to salvage their case.
So guess what? Sylva is in charge, Sylva will remain in charge as Sylva has always been in charge.
