*ETCHE ETHNIC NATIONALITY & SENATE* By Nwala Charles Ikenna I have read many beautiful and intelligent write ups/articles by prominent Etche Sons and Daughters why Etche should produce the next Senator in Rivers East Senatorial District in 2019. Brief background information; The Rivers East Senatorial District is made up of three Ethnic Groups:

IKWERRE ETHNIC GROUP:
i. Ikwerre L.G.A
ii. Emuoha L.G.A
iii. Port Harcourt City L.G.A
iv. Obio/Akpor L.G.A

ETCHE ETHNIC GROUP:
i. Etche L.G.A
ii. Omuma L.G.A

WAKIRIKE ETHNIC GROUP:
i. Okrika L.G.A
ii. Ogu/Bolo L.G.A

From 1999 to Date, all the other Ethnic Groups have produced a Senator representing this Senatorial District except Etche, and in all ramifications, Etche can not be termed as MINORITY in Rivers State, so I wonder and begin to ask why this treatment to my highly revered Ethnic Group.

We as Etche People have supported all these other Ethnic Groups in our Senatorial District to produce a Senator through great mobilization, votes and logistics during Elections.

2019 is around the corner, and it will be FAIR, JUST & RIGHT for these other Ethnic Groups to reciprocate our gesture by supporting an ETCHE SON/DAUGHTER to ascend to the position of the Senate to represent our Senatorial District in the next general election.

Our Brothers & Sisters in PDP have been silent about this our sincere struggle to have an ETCHE Senator, and I begin to wonder why this silence from their end. My question is, have they comprised, or don't they want to talk as not to offend their Party Leader in Rivers State?

We in APC have continually agitated for this position openly in a highly respected manner with all decorum.

As responsible Party Loyalists and Faithfuls, we will continually ask for what is our right in a decent manner because we have paid our dues right from inception of this Political Dispensation.

We have Experienced and Trustworthy Men & Women in Etche who can comfortably vie and occupy the Position of the Senate come 2019.

Let's come together to pursue this as a Group, and with God Almighty, we will achieve it.

Thank You All.
