THE HON. MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION AND NIGERIA'S SECURITY : BY NDPM

THE HON. MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION AND NIGERIA'S SECURITY : The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has banned the launching of Remotely Piloted Aircraft in the Nigerian airspace without the permit of the authority and the office of the National Security Adviser. This was contained in a statement issued by the General Manager Public Relations NCAA, Mr. Sam Adurogboye, which was made available to the National Coordinator of the Niger Delta People's Movement, Dame Ibifuro Thompson Tatua on Monday in Lagos. The statement said the move was part of the safety guidelines issued by the NCAA to drone operators following the proliferation of the technology in the country and the likelihood of terrorist groups taking advantage of our airspace. The NCAA GM was acting solely on directives from office of the Hon Minister of Transportation, he further informed the Nigerian public that, with the preponderance of these operations, particularly in a non-segregated airspace, there has to be proactive safety guidelines to preempt security threats. ~ Niger Delta People's Movement
