Sylva’s suspension unconstitutional – APC
The national leadership of the All Congress (APC) has declared the suspension of its governorship candidate in Bayelsa State, Chief Timpre Sylva, as unconstitutional.
The APC National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni, who stated this in a short message service, also stated that the party was not aware of the suspension.
Sylva, former governor of Bayelsa State and chieftain of APC, was over the weekend suspended by the Bayelsa State executive of APC.
The Bayelsa State APC, led by the state chairman, Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe, had earlier alleged that Sylva was collecting money from none party members in Bayelsa State to nominate them for federal appointments.
They also alleged that he collected money from the Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobori before he was nominated for the ministerial slot.
The state party executive, which had petitioned the activities of the party chieftain to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday announced his suspension.
