THE MAGNUS ABE SUPER INTERVIEW ON RADIO (1)

THE MAGNUS ABE SUPER INTERVIEW ON RADIO (1)

ABOUT THE SPATE OF INSECURITY IN RIVERS STATE AS IT AFFECTS THE COMING RERUN ELECTIONS, THE MOST DISTINGUISHED SENATOR SAID:

"I think the issue of free, fair, non-violent and credible election should be utmost on the mind of every leader at this point. We need to talk to one another..."

Segun of Rhythm 93.7 F.M, Port Harcourt, cuts in with further clarification to his question..."Just this morning, we received stories from LGAs where people are shooting, some areas where the Police have gathered some cache of weapons. The question is, if this is going on right now, a few months to the rerun elections, what would happen during the elections proper"?

MAGNUS ABE: I think that all of us have the responsibility to support the law enforcement agencies to to see that people who will not live according to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are apprehended and brought to book. It does not matter--and I keep saying this, people will not listen--it doesn't matter whether the person is a supporter of Senator Abe or an opponent of Senator Abe--anybody who is bearing arms against the rest of us who are not carrying guns is a danger to you and I. And any of us leaders who provide weapons for these boys, we are doing ourselves an incalculable harm. We are killing the economy of Rivers State-right now even if you have a property, you can't rent it, companies are moving out because of insecurity. You know, these guns that are provided for these boys have a lifespan of over 100 years. So you may have bought them today thinking that they will be used against me. They could be used to kill your child tomorrow. So we need to develop a mindset that goes beyond the immediate. We need to understand the dynamics of how we can truly help Rivers people. It's not just by holding office. If you hold office and nobody else has peace, nobody else is making progress, you can't even enjoy the office.
