In a shocking development, Enemi Alabo-George, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly whose election was nullified by the Court of Appeal has unabashedly admitted that hoodlums arrested with arms and ammunition by security agencies in Buguma of Asaritoru LGA yesterday are members of the Peoples Democratic in Rivers State.
Disturbed by the worsening security situation in Rivers State that has made life unbearable for law abiding citizens of Nigeria, security agencies had seemingly engaged in a proactive invasion of criminal hideouts in flash-points of some LGAs in Rivers State, an operation that has yielded seizures of mind-boggling cache of arms and ammunition used by criminal elements to terrorize law abiding citizens.
The Rivers State Police Command has communicated operation by its men in Buguma thus:
"On 6th January at 4am, a combined team of Police personnel drawn from SARS, anti-cultism unit, 19 PMF and 56 PMF in Rivers state conducted a raid at a notorious criminal hide-out in Buguma Village. On getting to the residence of an ex-Militant, Sobomabo Jackricks of the aforementioned address, one (1) AK-47 rifle, seventy (70) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, eleven (11) cartridges, two (2) battle axes and six hundred (600) suspected stolen voters cards were recovered while thirty-five (35) suspects were arrested. Suspects to undergo screening/interrogation"
However, in the most abysmal manner, Enemi Alabo-George had issued a statement in which he said the arrested suspected suspected cultists, kidnappers and armed thugs were members of the PDP and Buguma and warned of dire consequences if the security agencies continued with the security operations armed at ridding Rivers State of criminality. If hoodlums arrested with arms and ammunition are defended and called PDP members by Enemi Alabo-George, then the security operatives need to invite him to reveal how many such members of his party who illegally bear sophisticated arms are still at large.
