BREAKING:
APC Tsunami hits Idoma Nation!
Chief Steven Lawani has led the nucleus of the political heavyweights of the Idoma ethnic group into the nation's mainstream at Dan Onjeh's campaign flag off for the Benue South senatorial elections rerun against Senator David Alechenu Bonaventure Mark at the Government Secondary School, Oturkpo. Out of the decrepit PDP with him and thousands of their supporters are:
1. Sam Odeh, former Minister of the Niger Delta.
2. Prof Jerry Agada, former Minister of state for Education.
3. A former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Chief Mike Okibe.
Lawani, who was Deputy Governor of Benue State for eight years under Governor Gabriel Suswam, was also for many years the No. 2 man to Sen. Mark (ousted Senator and former President of the Senate) in the hierarchy of Oturkpo politics in Benue State. Oturkpo is the traditional and constitutional headquarters of the Idoma ethnic group: second to the largest group (Tiv) in that State. The Tiv constitute the majority and occupy two-thirds of Benue State, a position which automatically gave them two of the three senatorial Districts and a clear advantage to dominate the Governorship of the State. With Steven Lawani gone, this signals an apparent end of the road to Senator Mark's imperial reign in Idoma politics. On hand to place on seal on the tidal waves washing the Shores of River Benue are Their Excellencies, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and Dr. Samuel Ortom, Governor of Benue State.
