A DUTY TO OUR CONSCIENCE AND OUR GOD(1)

It was John Thornton who said,"wicked men by specious errors and intoxicating pleasure contrive to lull conscience into a slumber; but when it wakes, its voice is louder than thunder, and its strokes keener than flashes of lightning". Today, we have decided to obey that still small voice within us, the shrill and unmistakable voice of our consciences, the voice of our God, and that conviction to listen, to obey, has led us into the decision to articulate our duty to our consciences and God.
The words of two Nigerian sages gave us this push, this impetus, this boldness to declare our circumstances and where we stand today. First, the golden and undying words of Othman Dan Fodio when he said,"conscience is an open wound, only truth can heal it". And second, the words of Africa's greatest story teller, the unforgettable Chinua Achebe, when he admonished thus, "If you don't like someone's story, write your own".
In total obedience to Achebe's illimitable wisdom, we wish to tell our story--sharply, pungently, crisply--in reply to the watery allegations made by our now estranged account "Rivers Amachree" to the effect that we have cloned their account, and that Rivers APC have designed an avenue to distort and pollute public and political discourse with a "fake Rivers Amakree". We wish to truthfully and sincerely deny these allegations as untrue, mischievous and baseless. We shall get to all the details of our position, but before then, permit us to graphically outline the following.
HOW RIVERS AMACHREE WAS BORN
Sometimes before the 2015 electioneering campaigns, four young creative writers of Rivers Ijaw extraction came together to ruminate on how we could use the New Media to support and project Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential Election, even though two of us who have broken away from "Rivers Amachree" to create our "Rivers Amakree" had our reservations as to whether Dr. Jonathan could actually win the election because he failed to improve the lugubrious conditions of the Niger Delta and failed to show strong, purpose-driven leadership to the whole nation of Nigeria.
We developed an intelligent framework for our operations which we delivered to one Presidential Aide from the Niger Delta at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, where four of us where booked for three nights. The proposal, irresistible, was instantly approved. Shockingly, we were there and then mobilized in U.S Dollars to commence operations in earnest. Apple Laptops, IPads, IPhones were given to four of us before we were booked on a flight back to Port Harcourt after spending three days and nights in Abuja.
Part of our briefs was to create blogs, websites, groups and pages that would be used to advance the course of PDP and Jonathan. We rolled up our sleeves and went to work with a consuming enthusiasm.
We had an agreement to also support an Ijaw candidate under PDP for the Governorship of Rivers State. We chose a frontline aspirant then from the Kalabari extraction whose wife had root in Bayelsa State Government. Trouble started, however, when we discovered, much to our chagrin, that one of us was playing a double game by secretly fraternizing with Nyesom Wike. Unknown to us, even before the sham PDP guber primaries in Rivers State, this particular character had surreptitiously sent another proposal to Nyesom Wike to profile him on Social Media. Yet, this particular character was the closest to the Kalabari guber candidate we zeroed on and was alway making financial expeditions to Bayelsa to see the wife of that guber aspirant. We condemned his double standards, and also told him in clear terms how he was working and benefitting from Amaechi before he made "about turn".
If you were following Rivers Amachree well enough, you would discover that very close to the primaries, the two of us who have now formed our "Rivers Amakree" broke away and created a Rivers Amachree that was critical of Nyesom Wike. The reasons for our action was founded on our principles to always put Ijaw interest first. This character, who was working strongly with the Kalabari candidate, was also using Rivers Amachree to promote Wike at the same time. We felt that was the height of betrayal. It would take us a long time to discover that betrayal runs in the veins of this young man.
He would later go full blast with Nyesom Wike(he has even been compensated with an appointment) and use our Facebook account for purposes contrary to our original framework. Yes, money was coming. Yes, we had visibility, yes, we had other things. But for how long are we going to pollute our conscience because of filthy lucre?
For the two of us who have parted ways, Rivers Amachree was the name we coined. We created the account and shared the password to the four of us. Two weeks ago, when we had irreconcilable differences, we told the other people to give us the right to our "intellectual property" by surrendering our Rivers Amachree, but they won't oblige us. They have the money, free government money, they have the militants and the bad boys, so instead of giving us our name to go with, they started threatening us with death.
OPERATION OF RIVERS AMACHREE
To say the truth, we were heavily funded by Nyesom Wike to spill propaganda. And we have spilled so many.
1. We spilled the propaganda calling Amaechi and others JUDAS
2. We spilled the propaganda about the Amaechi's US Bancorp/Minessota Bank account in which he stored billions of looted funds.
3. We created the CNN's Amanpour Propaganda in which we said the CNN has uncovered $757 million Dollars in Amaechi's foreign account, a story which Jerry Needam who speaks for Rivers PDP picked from us and circulated to the world.
4. We have ran several propaganda against Magnus Abe
5. We ran the propaganda that Dakuku Adol Peterside was stripped naked and beaten in UST for belonging to a cult group when he was an undergraduate.
6. We ran the propaganda that the Magnus Abe group is angry about the appointment of Ibim SEMINITARI as Acting-MD of NDDC among many others. In fact, we were paid and maintained to spill dangerous propaganda against the APC and create ethnic sentiment against that party. Propaganda was our only work.
7. We provided all the falsehood that Livingstone Wechie used to attempt to stop the appointment of Amaechi as minister. In fact the name "Integrity Group" was actually thought out and suggested by us because we felt that would sell his message well.
What normally surprised us was the fact that Nigerians actually believed this falsehood without questioning it.
WHY WE CHOSE TO GO WITH THE NAME RIVERS AMAKREE AND USE JONATHAN'S PICTURE
We chose the name Rivers Amakree because Amakree is the name of our great ancestor who has always protected us and provided right inspiration. We also carefully changed the spelling so that this account will not be confused with the other one we've been operating called Rivers Amachree. Secondly, two of us are the ones who actually suggested that we should use Rivers Amachree for our operation. So, rightly, we should have a kind of patent to it. However, in order to follow the path of peace and rectitude, we have decided to use Rivers Amakree to distinguish it from the other one.
As for Jonathan's picture, we use it because we loved the man for rising to become President of Nigeria, although we are very sad that he missed that golden opportunity to answer the Niger Delta questions while he was President. He failed to develop our region. He has virtually nothing standing as a monument in his name in the Delta. So, the picture is there to remind us of our missed opportunity which we intend should act as a catalyst for our people to get it right in the future.
ACHI GODWIN WOBODO
The only thing we know about Achi Wobodo is that he has severally been a victim of our toxic propaganda because we are always worried and shaken by his principles espoused in truth and rectitude. Two of us here have not met him, but we know he used to help the other two people still operating Rivers Amachree in the past. In fact, the man has done so much for the other guy who has been compensated by Wike with an appointment. The man is a man of truth, and Rivers Amachree should leave him alone. If this advise is not heeded, we shall do an expose in the next few days that will make people gnash their teeth.
OUR U-TURN
After spewing propaganda, supporting and promoting criminality for political gains, destroying the Ijaw Agenda for material convenience, two of us decided to part ways with the other two still operating Rivers Amachree to create Rivers Amakree. Why should we use falsehood to destroy another Rivers Ijaw in Dakuku Peterside when our original plan was to project the Ijaw interest? Isn't Ijaw one? Why should we summit to the cannibalization of our original design because of pecuniary gains? We have met our God and we can't go back to the old way. Rivers Amakree is here to stay. As
Mohandas K. Gandhi said: "The things that will destroy us are: politics without principle; pleasure without conscience; wealth without work; knowledge without character; business without morality; science without humanity; and worship without sacrifice" we don't want to be destroyed. We have turn a new leaf to the path of rectitude.
THREAT OF DEATH
We wish to make it clear that ever since we communicated our resolve to embrace the truth and shun the old way of toxic propaganda, we have been threatened with death. We decided to run away from Rivers State to save our lives. We know the capacity of the people we have been working with to do mischief, but our lives are in the hands of God. Why should we be afraid of people who can kill the body but not the spirit?
APOLOGY AND RESTITUTION
We wish to apologize to every Rivers man and woman, every Nigerian that we lied against because of protecting the evil and inordinate ambition of Nyesom. We seek forgiveness and implore that you all find it somewhere in your hearts to forgive us.
We are making a concise plan to return all the money that was our own share of what we collected from Nyesom Wike and his strong financial supporters for our operation because that is in synchrony with the Christian doctrine of restitution. In days to come, we shall return all in full.
OUR PACT
OUR pact with you, our esteemed readers, is to always tell the truth and expose all the evil we know that have been done in Rivers State.
In days to come, you will hear shocking stories here on this page. We shall be attacked, we shall be reported, but we shall overcome all.
As Edwin Louis Cole said, "The pattern of the prodigal is: rebellion, ruin, repentance, reconciliation, restoration. We have sinned. We wish to be forgiven and accepted, but we can't be cowed by evil people to go back to our old ways.
